Dear Daughters of my Father,
I know that I should have been in hell the moment
I was conceived. Not only have my hands been dirty, but my entire soul was
consumed in wickedness. But our vindication has come from Him. Christ’s
sacrifice does not fall short of satisfying the Father’s justice. As we learn
of His purity and holiness, He will give us clean hands. Surely we will find
Him in His deliverance provided to us to rescue us from our impurity.
I am compelled to
write a summary of everything that God has taught me about the purity of a
woman of God in the past several years. I trust that God will help me portray
this teaching clearly and in a way that you can all understand and relate to.
The purpose of this book is to exhort my sisters in Christ to seek Christ in
their pursuit of absolute purity. The desire of the heart of a woman of God is
for not only physical virginity, but absolute purity of the heart. This chastity
of the heart is only possible when a woman has kept Christ as her Lord and
devoted herself to abiding in His Word and love.
First of all God
has directly taught me these truths through His Word and the conviction of the
Holy Spirit. Many of the things I will be writing about concern matters that I
have not personally dealt with. But I feel that God has used some His Word and
events in my life to convict me and open my eyes to His purity and my impurity
apart from Him. Secondly my brother has been used by God to reveal to me the
perspectives and struggles of men as well as many of the reciprocate issues
that men face. Thirdly I have been informed on some of the teachings regarding
purity from Paul Washer, Charles Mahaney, Voddie Baucham, Elizabeth Elliott,
and others. Finally my conversations with many old and young women about their
husbands and other men in their lives have opened my eyes to the intersection
between the Word of God and our personal hearts and lives.
To my brothers in Christ who read
this book, I assume that you consider my words in this book as a personal
testimony of the truths that God has taught me through His Word in my journey
with Him and as encouragement from a sister in Christ rather than any form of
authoritative teaching (1 Tim 2:12).
The bold-italicized verses are quoted from
the New American Standard Bible. My intention is that your reading of this book
is a deep and soul-satisfying experience brought about by the work of the Holy
Spirit in your heart. Though I have earnestly sought the Lord’s guidance to
write this book with perfection and in a spirit of agape, my words expressed
here are susceptible to flaws and inaccuracy, and I pray that God gives you
discernment that the truth may be upheld and accurately represented. The
Scriptures alone are the all-sufficient inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God and
source of eternal Truth.
Love
in Christ,
Preethi
